FALLSTON COUGAR BOOSTERS SCHOLARSHIP 

STUDENT-ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION  

2025  

PURPOSE: 

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize student athletes at Fallston High School who have developed and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, achievement/accomplishment and leadership in Fallston athletics and the school community throughout their four years. The awards are based on the student-athlete’s participation and contributions to both junior varsity and varsity sports, student athlete’s personal reflection, and coaches’ recommendations. A $1000 scholarship will be awarded to six athletes. These scholarships will be awarded at the Senior Award Ceremony in May. 

STUDENT CRITERIA: 

To be eligible for the Booster Scholarship, applicants must be: 

• Senior Athlete or Manager: Student must participate in at least one sports’ season during their senior year as an athlete or manager.  
• Current Booster Club Member: Parent and/or family must be a current member of the Fallston Cougar Boosters by March 21st of the applicant’s graduating year to apply. *Note: A banner sponsorship does not constitute a Booster Membership. 
• Eligibility: Applicants must be academically and behaviorally eligible to play and/or manage a varsity sport in their senior year. No disqualifications for disciplinary reasons.  
• Minimum GPA: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 verified by the Guidance Counselor. • Coaches’ Recommendations: At least two coaches’ recommendations MUST be submitted indicating the student athlete’s development as a student-athlete, level of sportsmanship, leadership and achievement/accomplishment  as part of the sport’s team during all seasons that the coach has coached or worked with the athlete or manager.  One recommendation must be from the Varsity coach from the athlete or manager’s senior year. Another Head Coach, an Assistant Coach and/or a JV Coach could be the other required recommendation. A third coach recommendation can be submitted but is not required. (No more than 3 recommendations will be accepted.) Be  sure to allow coaches ample time to complete their recommendation by the scholarship deadline. *If an athlete/manager has only been coached by one coach during their entire high school athletic career, please note that on the application for the name of the second recommendation. 
• Personal Reflection: Applicants will write a personal reflection describing their athletic career and the impact of  athletics on their growth as a student at Fallston High School. Students should consider their athletic  accomplishments/achievement, leadership and sportsmanship and how Fallston athletics has prepared them for  college/trade/technical school and beyond. The Personal Reflection will be submitted with the online application. 
• College or Trade/Technical School Bound Student: Applicants must attend college or a Trade/Technical School the following year after they graduate either the Fall or the Spring. If the winner does not attend college or  Trade/Technical School, the award will be forfeited. The check for the scholarship will be paid directly to the college on behalf of the winning athlete. *Note: Applicants will be disqualified if they receive a full scholarship.  
• Application: Completed application MUST be received online by April 4th, 2025.
